Spokesperson for the National Awakening Party (PKB) Mikhael Benyamin Sinaga emphasized that his party is currently still focused on the presidential election dispute process at the Constitutional Court (MK). PKB has not yet thought regarding the next steps, including joining the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM)
“Currently we are still focused on the process at the Constitutional Court,” said Benyamin to Media Indonesia, Monday (8/4).
He also did not explain further regarding the opportunity for PKB to approach Prabowo following the process at the Constitutional Court was completed.
“I can’t give a statement regarding that yet,” he said.
Previously, PKB Vice Chairman Jazilul Fawaid stated that Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin)’s relationship with Prabowo would remain close following the 2024 presidential election. This statement gave rise to speculation that PKB would move closer to KIM.
Moreover, Jazilul also admitted that PKB had no experience at all as an opposition.
“PKB doesn’t have the experience for that. We’ll see later. We’ll learn first. We’ll see because PKB doesn’t have experience outside of government,” explained Jazilul. (Z-11)
