The three-day conference of PASP AEI Patras started this followingnoon in the Hall of the Trade Association with speakers three candidate MEPs who are ready to throw themselves into the battle of the ballot box on Sunday, June 9. The work of the conference was started by the secretary of the party, Andreas Spyropoulos, followed by the secretary of Equality, Maria Dafermou, and the head of the Environment department, Panagiotis Dimopoulos.
The speakers of the first day of the conference were greeted and welcomed by the former secretary of PASP Patras, Agis Kourlesis, who in his greeting expressed the joy and honor that the city is hosting the three executives of PASOK and wished them success in the battle of the European elections.
Before the start of the conference, Mr. Spyropoulos was asked by pelop.gr regarding the developments in the matter of wiretapping that the decision of the Council of Justice vindicates Nikos Androulakis who asked to know the reasons for which he had been put under surveillance. The Secretary emphasized:
“The decision of the SC is a personal vindication for the struggle of Nikos Androulakis and the entire faction for almost two years now. I believe that on Monday the reasons will be revealed that prompted a parastatal set up in the Maximos Palace to monitor the president of PASOK and half of the political system. The truth has begun to come to light as we promised. We will do everything in our power to find out and bring those who are guilty to justice.”
For European elections:
“PASOK is trying to take initiatives. Social housing, accuracy, cost of living, welfare state, problems in Health and Education. We have a serious proposal for the ND. The three-day debate in parliament proved that institutionally and seriously the ND can suffer blows and damage if it has a faction once morest it and a proposal with seriousness and documentation can stand up to the huge effort being made to degrade democracy.
The European elections are an opportunity for the people to choose an official opposition and the force that will oppose and win the ND in the next national elections. PASOK will not function as a golden sponsor of Mr. Mitsotakis and his politicians, as SYRIZA and Mr. Kasselakis still do today. Even in the case of the eavesdropping and the Tempes, with the inappropriate statements he gave gifts to the ND and Mr. Mitsotakis”.
