THE political-themed Korean drama series, Uncle Samsik, will premiere on May 15 2024 exclusively on the Disney+ Hotstar film screening service.
According to an official statement, quoted on Thursday (4/4), the Uncle Samsik series is set in Korea in the 1960s and follows the story of Kim San, an ambitious idealist who is driven to change the fate of his country.
As a recipient of the Albright scholarship, Kim San wants to transform his country into an industrial country and provide the Korean people with a level of prosperity like that of the United States (US).
Determined to be successful, Kim San attracts the attention of Mr. Doochill (Uncle Samsik), an astute problem solver who adapts to any situation and takes whatever steps necessary to help him achieve his goals.
Together, this pair will form an uneasy alliance, navigate the complexities of existing systems, and be united by the common goal of a prosperous future.
This series stars Song Kangho as Pak Doochill/Uncle Samsik and Byun Yohan as Kim San.
The Uncle Samsik series was written and directed by Shin Yeonshick, who previously worked on the films Cassiopeia and Romans 8:37.
With a total of 16 episodes, Uncle Samsik will air five episodes on May 15 2024 followed by two episodes each week until the end of the story on June 19 2024 which will consist of three parts. (Ant/Z-1)
