Through a statement, Juan Gerardo Guerrero, Secretary General of the Presidency, reported this Sunday that President Bernardo Arévalo made the decision to dismiss the Minister of Environment and Natural ResourcesMaría José Iturbide.
The dismissal of the minister occurs following it became known that her daughter, María Fernanda Iturbide, used state vehicles and security elements for his personal activities.
In the statement, it is argued that the president made the decision to “avoid any doubt regarding the commitment of your administration and tolerance to the misuse of State resources and corruption.”
In addition to the information regarding the dismissal, the statement indicates that, based on this situation, the National Commission once morest Corruption was instructed to “create presidential guidelines for the use of state vehicles”.

The situation arose following María Iturbide published on her social networks that, due to alleged intimidation and persecution once morest her daughter, made the decision to grant security temporal.
