An anticipated fiery confrontation between Al Hilal and Al Nassr in the Saudi Super Cup

Saudi Arabia – The Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi will be on Monday with an expected fiery confrontation between Al Hilal and Al Nasr in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup football competition in its new look.

The 12th edition of the Saudi Super Cup will be held with the participation of four teams for the first time, and the second confrontation in the round of four will be between Al-Ittihad and Al-Wahda on Monday as well, with the final being next Thursday.

The events of the confrontation between Al Hilal and Al Nasr will begin at 22:30 Saudi time, 19:30 GMT.

Al Hilal is looking forward to continuing its record consecutive victories of 32 in various competitions following its 4-1 victory over Al Khaleej in the Saudi League.

Al-Hilal leads the league by 12 points from its rival Al-Nasr following 27 stages, and is therefore moving steadily towards winning the title, which is one of its goals, in addition to winning the AFC Champions League title, in which it reached the semi-finals, where it will visit Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates on April 16, before… He will play the second leg at home on the 23rd of the same month.

On the other hand, Al-Nasr is looking forward to improving its image and saving its season by winning the Super Cup following the gap with Al-Hilal in the league widened.

Al Hilal is missing the services of Serbian striker Alexander Mitrovic and Saud Abdel Hamid due to injury, in addition to Brazilian Neymar, who has been absent for some time due to a ruptured cruciate ligament.

Despite Mitrovic’s absence, Al Hilal does not suffer offensively in light of the brilliance of Brazilian Felipe Malcolm, who scored two goals in Al Hilal’s victory over Al Khaleej. Saleh Al Shehri also excelled by scoring for the second match in a row.

On the other hand, Al-Nasr will miss some names, most notably the Brazilian Anderson Talisca due to his knee injury, and Abdul-Ilah Al-Omari, as well as the duo Walid Abdullah and Nawaf Al-Aqidi.

Al-Nasr also received a painful blow following the absence of Sami Al-Naji, who suffered a severe injury during the Damak match in the league, was confirmed.

Monday’s match will be the third confrontation between the two teams this season, following the first in the league, when Al Hilal won 3-0, and the second in the Riyadh Season Cup, where Al Hilal also won 2-0.

The two teams faced off twice in the Super Cup: the first in 2015 at Loftus Road Stadium in London in the first edition, and Al Hilal won 1-0, and the second in 2020 at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, and Al-Nasr won 3-0.

Al-Hilal holds the record for the number of Saudi Super Cup titles, having won it three times in 2015, 2018 and 2021, while Al-Nasr won twice in 2019 and 2020.
