The finalist of the MasterChef 2019 competition Denisa Zajícová (formerly Cziglová) openly described her struggle with an insidious disease and moments of hopelessness on social networks. Unfortunately, a serious illness was beyond her strength. Her family informed regarding the sad event on her profile on the social platform. Jan Punčochář, the judge of the competition, expressed his feelings for ŽivotvČesku.cz, who was affected by the death of the handsome participant of the gastro show.
The young mother fought a brain tumor for the first time in 2014, at the age of twenty-seven. Subsequently, she underwent four operations – however, she refused the prescribed treatment at the time.
“After several operations and a huge determination to recover, combined with a change in lifestyle and diet, the tumor was put to sleep. We all believed that foreverDenisa said some time ago.
Nine years following the last brain surgery, the tumor woke up once more, in its worst form – the so-called glioblastoma. The talented cook and mother of one daughter was only 35 years old.
The family informed regarding the death of the gifted participant of the MasterChef show on her Instagram profile. “These lines are not written lightly, but our Deniska lost her battle with a serious illness today and fought bravely until the very end,” reads the introduction of the statement.
“Our pain is great, but we sincerely believe that she is better now. We thank all Deniska’s friends for their incredible interest, support and help in caring for her. We don’t know anyone who has as many real and active friends around her as she does, that care touched us incredibly all the time. You gave our whole family strength for every next day, it was the worst time of our lives and a very difficult fight with an insidious and evil disease. Thanks to all of you who tried to make the last months and days pleasant and easy for Denise. We also thank the angels from the home hospice in Zahradníková, for their incredible help in these moments, thanks to all of you we managed it and Deniska might be in the comfort of her home until the very end. Goodbye our love, you will never be forgotten, rest now. Your loving family,” added the closest.
The judge of the competition for amateur chefs, Jan Punčochář, provided a few words for ŽivotvČesku.cz. “It is very sad news. For me, all the more because I got to know her through the competition. I’m very sorry regarding it,” said the famous chef, who met the beautiful finalist of the competition in front of the camera in 2019, in a very sad voice.
