GAC Aion Collaborates with Indomobil to Market Electric Cars in Indonesia – 2024-04-06 16:34:14

A car manufacturer from China, GAC Aion, is collaborating with local distributor Indomobil Group to market electric cars in Indonesia. Quoting from BetweenGAC Aion is a competitor to BYD and Tesla in its home country.

“In line with the Indomobil Group’s commitment and the corporation’s active role in reducing carbon emissions, we are proud to present GAC Aion as one of the 3 electric vehicle manufacturers in the world,” said President Director of the Indomobil Group, Jusak Kertowidjojo, at the signing of the collaboration between the two in Jakarta , Tuesday (2/4).

For your information, GAC Ain is one of the brands of the GAC Group. The other three are GAC Toyota, GAC Honda, and GAC Motor.

“I would like to introduce GAC AION (GAC AION New Energy Automobile Co ltd). As a subsidiary of the GAC Group which was founded in 2017, and aims to become a world-class intelligent electric vehicle brand along the development path of EV (EV battery) + ICV (connected vehicle smart),” said Managing Director of GAC Aion New Energy Automobile Co Ltd Gu Hui Nan.

For starters, GAC Aion will bring four new vehicles in the next year. This manufacturer’s debut will begin at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) which will take place next June.

In its debut, the automotive manufacturer will first bring two vehicles, namely the Y Plus and also the Hyper HT. The product line includes models such as sedans, SUVs and supercars. “So there are only two that we can convey, namely Aion Y Plus and Hyper HT,” promised Jusak.

In the future, there will be at least three new models marketed every year. GAC Aion is also one of the few car manufacturers in the world that independently develops and produces the core technologies of batteries, electric motors and electric controls.

Battery and electric drive factories have been put into operation to create an independent and controlled industrial chain. This is to realize higher production efficiency, better product quality and improve the economy. (Z-6)
