President of the CDAG, Dr. Carlos Morales, dies
Through its social networks, the Autonomous Sports Confederation of Guatemala (CDAG) shared that Doctor Carlos Molares, president of the entity, died.

“Guatemalan federated sports deeply regret the physical departure of the president of the Autonomous Sports Confederation of Guatemala, CDAG“, wrote the Autonomous Sports Confederation of Guatemala (CDAG) on April 4 on its official Facebook account.
“Dr. Carlos Morales distinguished himself for being a great national and international leader, among all sports his great passion being handball, to which he dedicated a large part of his life.“says the statement.
“An example of a son, husband, father and friend, he knew how to infect each person in his journey through life with the values that sport generates and which he made fundamental as a human being.“, ends.
Carlos Morales was also the head of the Handball Federation and had held the position as president of the CDAG since January 2023, following his team won the entity’s elections in October 2021.
As he was able to know Free PressDr. Morales presented health complications that led to his death.
Federated sport mourns death
After the news was announced, several Guatemalan sports federations and associations also published their condolences to the family and friends of Carlos Morares.
The Olympic Committee wrote that together with its General Assembly “deeply regret the sensitive death of Dr. Carlos Enrique Morales, President of the Autonomous Sports Confederation of Guatemala“.
The Paralympic Committee for its part that “Dr. Carlos Morales was always a great ally who identified with Para Deporte“.
The Federation of Badminton, Table Tennis, Karate, Wrestling, Motorcycle, Handball, among others, also joined the duel.
