England – Chelsea star Cole Palmer joined a long list of contenders to win the best scorer award in the English Premier League following he scored three goals once morest Manchester United (4-3) yesterday, Thursday.
Unlike last season, when Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was crowned the top scorer in the English Premier League early, the Norwegian international striker’s scoring sense declined this season and he refrained from scoring in many matches for his team, facing fierce competition to win the top scorer award for the second season in a row.
Haaland is currently the top scorer in the English Premier League with 18 goals, but only two goals ahead of four players, namely Liverpool star, Egyptian Mohamed Salah, Aston Villa striker, Ollie Watkins, and Bournemouth’s top scorer, Dominic Solanke, in addition to Palmer.
The following is the ranking of the English Premier League’s top scorers eight rounds before the end of the competition:
1- Erling Haaland – Manchester City – 18 goals
2- Mohamed Salah – Liverpool – 16 goals
– Ollie Watkins – Aston Villa – 16 goals
– Dominic Solanke – Bournemouth – 16 goals
– Cole Palmer – Chelsea – 16 goals
6- Heung-Min Son – Tottenham – 15 goals
