Microsoft has solved the problem of quantum computers

Quantum computers are devices that use the phenomena of quantum superposition and quantum entanglement to transmit and process data. However, such computers are used only in science, since they are more prone to errors than conventional ones. The company’s engineers said they had achieved error-free quantum computing.

Microsoft’s solution was to group physical qubits into virtual ones. This approach allows you to diagnose and correct errors. According to experts, thanks to the new technology, the number of errors has decreased by 800 times. The corporation also stated that they carried out more than 14 thousand calculations on a quantum computer without a single error.

“The goal of the entire quantum ecosystem is to improve the accuracy of qubits and ensure the fault tolerance of quantum computing so that we can use a quantum machine to find solutions to previously intractable problems,” said Microsoft executive Jason Zander. “I hope they can maintain or even improve the error rate as they scale up,” said MIT physics professor Aram Harrow, who specializes in quantum computing.
