Abidjan, Ivory Coast, April 4, 2024 -/African Media Agency (AMA)/-Procurement managers from multilateral development banks (MDBs) have jointly developed a comprehensive and user-friendly tool (in English) to assess procurement systems electronic public procurement (e-GP) of partner countries.

The tool, specially designed for reviewing procurement of goods, works or services financed by MDBs using e-GP systems, aims to determine whether these systems meet the minimum requirements set by MDBs for their effective use.

This assessment tool conducts a thorough review of procurement policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance. It allows MDBs to assess to what extent e-GP systems meet the necessary criteria or whether additional measures are required. For broader reform initiatives, this tool is ideally complemented by the additional e-GP module of MAPS (link is external).

The effective use of e-GP systems is essential to improve the transparency, credibility and efficiency of procurement processes. By consolidating procurement data and providing comprehensive information, e-GP systems empower decision-makers to prepare and implement projects.
