Personnel from the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT) develop a prevention plan through inspections to verify that public transportation units comply with traffic regulations. To date, 513 fines have been imposed.
«We have imposed 513 fines on public transport in this holiday period, which represents 11.3% of the total fines imposed. Anti-doping controls have been intensified to raise awareness among the population; “We have removed 99 people from circulation for having more than 100 degrees of alcohol,” explained the director of the VMT, Ismael Flores.
The official explained that among the main faults of public transport drivers are: Not carrying a spare tire or reflective triangle and not carrying a visible fare.
