WULING Motors (Wuling) recorded its best sales in early 2024 in the emission-free vehicle segment, even though the automotive industry is decorated with trends that are not so positive due to various reasons.
“In the midst of a declining market in February, Wuling led the electric vehicle segment with its two products,” said Wuling Motors Sales & Marketing Director Dian Asmahani, in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/4) as reported by Between.
According to records shared by Wuling, this company managed to record retail sales (from dealers to consumers) of 474 units during the first two months of 2024. In January, retail sales for Air EV were 212 for and 262 units in the second month of 2024.
Meanwhile, for Wuling BinguoEV, Wuling noted that retail sales in January were 793 units and February were 505 units. Thus, the number of retail sales for BinguoEV was 1,298 units and the total was 1,772 units or contributed 59 percent of the total EV sales in the country.
The positive note is also balanced by the number of wholesalers (from factories to dealers) which managed to contribute around 78 percent of the EV market in Indonesia. In the first month of 2024, Wuling noted that at least Air EV in January 2024 only recorded sales of 6 units and in February it increased drastically, namely 451 units. So the total produced by Air EV is 457 units.
Meanwhile, for BinguoEV, Wuling recorded at least 1,876 units in January and 428 units in February. So the total obtained for this vehicle reached 2,304 units.
The positive achievements achieved by Wuling in early 2024 were due to various things such as economical maintenance costs, a guarantee that pampers consumers and the presence of incentives provided by the government for these two electric vehicles.
These two electric vehicle products have also met the government’s 40 percent TKDN requirement to get a special 1 percent VAT incentive for electric vehicles. In this way, consumers can own an electric car from Wuling at a more affordable price. (Z-6)
