At the next meeting of the board of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), which will take place on April 18, it is planned to consider the possibility of terminating cooperation with enterprises exporting to Russia and Belarus, said Chairman of the Board of the LCCI Janis Endzins.
He noted that the LCCI currently includes 25 enterprises exporting goods to Russia and Belarus.
Including eight logistics companies, five medical and pharmaceutical companies, two textile enterprises, two food companies, and the export portfolio of eight other companies to these countries will be clarified during the negotiations.
“In total, there are more than 2,700 direct members of the LCCI. The mentioned enterprises are a very small part, not even a percentage,” Endzins emphasized, adding that in accordance with the LCCI charter, members can be expelled from the organization if they damage the reputation of the LCCI.
When asked whether the LCCI is negotiating with the relevant enterprises, Endzins replied that they have begun: the LCCI organizes meetings at a time available to the enterprises.
LTCI is a society of entrepreneurs that unites micro, small, medium and large enterprises from all regions of Latvia and sectors of the national economy. The Chamber has a total of regarding 6,000 members. LCCI is a member of the European Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the International Chamber of Commerce.
