Bombril creates complete digital operation with IBM to support the repositioning of the brand in the national market

Giant in the hygiene and cleaning industry automates finance operations with a solution designed by IBM Consulting to support the growth of its business

São Paulo, April 4, 2024 – IBM today announces the creation of a complete digital operation with Bombril for the next seven years. The company – one of the largest in Brazil in the hygiene and cleaning segment – ​​had revenues of R$2.14 billion in 2022 and is undergoing a brand repositioning in the national market. To enhance this new moment, Bombril has a solution designed by IBM Consulting to digitize and operate the company’s entire finance backoffice and, thus, support this growth and renewal.

Through the principle of hyperautomation – which automates all processes that can be automated in an organization – the company will use Artificial Intelligence (AI), IBM cloud and other technologies to create an AI model with IBM Consulting, transforming the experience of employees and partners from Bombril, in addition to accelerating and improving response times and process precision. According to a survey recently released by Gartner, 85% of respondents will increase or maintain their investments in hyperautomation in their organizations.

For this moment of Bombril’s expansion, a new digitalized backoffice structure was used, which brought the entire support service to a level of planned evolution in the coming years. A real example of virtual intelligence might be seen in this new way of working for the company with the digital operation implemented by IBM: progressively, Bombril employees and suppliers will stop interacting with ERP systems and will start interacting with virtual assistants, who will be those responsible for carrying out operational work, allowing professionals to focus on more strategic company activities.

“One of Bombril’s challenges is to have a backoffice structure that supports all growth planned for the coming years, with speed, intelligence, robustness, resilience and compliance with regulatory and internal governance measures. We believe that the gains we will have with the implementation of this cognitive solution will be extremely relevant”, highlights Ronnie Motta, CEO of Bombril.

For Marco Kalil, leader of IBM Consulting in Brazil, solutions like these designed for Bombril allow the company to operate in a more simplified way, resulting in reduced costs and a stronger competitive position in the market. “What we proposed to Bombril is more than a simple digitalization, but an impactful change in the experience of the company’s employees, in addition to the application of AI, which will allow a constant evolution of quality and productivity in its internal areas”, he highlights.

Bombril had a net accounting profit of R$45.2 million in the 3rd quarter of 2023, triple the gains from the same period last year, according to financial statements sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM).
