Who is the new representative of Congress before the Monetary Board?

The deputy was proposed by Adim Maldonado, who coordinates a faction of the UNE and is the main opponent of Sandra Torres.

The deputy of the National Unity of Hope (UNE) bench, Luis Javier López Bolaños, was elected yesterday as the titular representative before the Monetary Board. The congressman obtained support following he declined the candidacy of him, Samuel Pérez, elected by the Semilla Movement.

In last year’s elections, López was nominated by said political organization as a deputy and occupied box three of the National List. The legislator, who according to his information is an Industrial Engineer who graduated from the Rafael Landívar University, will be in charge of knowing everything related to the country’s monetary policy.

López is the brother-in-law of the UNE deputy, Adim Maldonado Molina, as he is married to Melanie Xiomara Maldonado Molina. Maldonado (Adim) was consulted regarding the family relationship he maintains with the newly elected titular representative before the JM, but he no longer responded.

Deputy López Bolaños also served as finance secretary in the last electoral campaign of the party currently being contested by Adim Maldonado and Sandra Torres. Last Sunday, a faction that controls Torres published a statement signed by the Court of Honor and Discipline, in which they announced that an expulsion process had begun due to various complaints presented by UNE members.

López Bolaños, proposed by the UNE, received the favorable vote of 129 deputies from the different groups, among them, the Vamos group coordinated by the former president of Congress, Allan Rodríguez, who yesterday had a verbal confrontation with the current president of this organization, Nery Ramos. , due to the issue of not giving him the floor in the plenary session.
