AN EXPERT from the camp of the pair Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN), Faisal Basri, said that El Nino’s direct cash assistance (BLT) was only to increase the vote share of certain presidential and vice presidential candidates. This was conveyed in the General Election Results Dispute (PHPU Dispute) trial for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) at the Constitutional Court (MK).
“So it is clear that this El Nino needs to increase votes, only that, in terms of data, this is very heartbreaking and as if we are all stupid,” said Faisal at the Constitutional Court Building, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 1 2024.
Faisal said that the El Nino BLT distribution was a stage for certain parties. This natural phenomenon is used as a tool to ensure the effectiveness of social assistance distribution.
“It must be shown that the person giving it is wearing a certain uniform, a certain message, and so on. So the stages created are to ensure the effectiveness of this social assistance as much as possible,” said Faisal.
He hinted that there would be no similar assistance in 2021. In fact, in 2021 there will also be El Nino and the impact will be worse.
“If we look at the number of droughts, the number of floods and extreme weather that is worse in 2021 than 2023, why is there no (BLT) El Nino in 2021?” said Faisal.
