European elections 2024: Kouloglou is a candidate with the New Left 2024-04-03 22:18:30

Among other things in his post, Mr. Kouloglou emphasized that he left SYRIZA last October due to “phenomena of political degeneration”, while he pointed out that “the developments completely justified my choice”.

Kouloglou’s full post:

“In the upcoming European elections I will be a candidate with the New Left!

As you know, in October 2023 I separated my position from the phenomena of political degeneration in the area with which I had been elected MEP.

In the period that followed, I believe that the developments fully justified my choice. My candidacy for the upcoming European elections was announced today on the New Left ballot.

Europe is currently facing the mortal danger of the anti-European nationalist Far Right, which is growing stronger because social discrimination is constantly growing. The European leadership’s policies are disastrous and its responsibilities historic.

At the same time, our country is constantly getting poorer and losing ground in the EU. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. The tragedy of Tempe and the movement it spawned for truth and justice highlighted the underdevelopment of the country, the moral corruption of the government and the inadequacy of the political staff. The majority of citizens neither want nor can live like this anymore.

Greece needs a great green, democratic revolution that will change everything. It will modernize public administration, upgrade democracy and justice, tackle the demographic problem, give everyone access to health and truly free education. As well as the right to housing, especially for young people. And he will take drastic measures for the climate crisis, which has already destroyed entire regions of Greece.

As a new, serious political force, freed from the mistakes of the past and the communication shenanigans, the New Left can courageously speak the truth. That Greek households pay the most in Europe for their children’s education and that goes no further. That wages, pensions and public spending will not increase if the arms race continues. That the cultural upgrade goes through the separation of the state from the church.

In the two months until the crucial European elections, I put my political, parliamentary and legislative work, international initiatives and actions to the citizens’ judgment. They aim to create a modern”.
