Almost half of Latvian companies count on the help of artificial intelligence

However, most tend to agree that AI tools will become part of the workflow, whether they want it or not.

When asked to indicate which statement they agree with regarding AI, the majority, namely 64.6% of respondents, chose the answer: “Artificial intelligence will become part of everyday work, whether I want it or not.” The trade-off approach clearly reflects the prevailing view in the business world that these solutions are an inevitable part of the future, even if most workers do not yet see their potential or know how to use these tools.

The second most popular statement demonstrates a lack of trust in AI tools. 48.9% of respondents note that verifying the results of work performed using AI solutions takes a relatively long time. Some respondents admit that they were unpleasantly surprised by the errors of digital tools, which also led them to question the quality of the content they created.

However, more than a third of company representatives rate the use of AI tools positively. 41.1% emphasize that text and image generators, as well as other solutions, will make everyday work easier. 30.6% believe that AI can save employees time and company money.

About a fifth of respondents are negative. 20.7% are convinced that implementing and maintaining AI solutions is too expensive, 18.1% do not see the contribution of AI to their work, and 7.1% even consider it a threat to their activities.

“Although the so-called artificial intelligence is still far from the level of synthetic intelligence demonstrated in science fiction films, it has already caused sharp contradictions in society. The arguments range from the belief that AI will solve all of our planet’s problems to the hysteria that it will destroy humanity and should be banned today. From the survey we can conclude that Latvian entrepreneurs have chosen a pragmatic path in this matter – to monitor the development of AI solutions and implement those that really help business,” states Viesturs Slaidins, head of Jumis Pro.

It should be noted that almost a third of respondents have not yet formed their opinion regarding AI. This allows us to conclude that this part of society has not yet accumulated sufficient experience with these solutions.
420 representatives of Latvian companies took part in the survey, conducted at the end of March.
