According to newsit, for its part, the EU is asking for “restraint” following the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus for which Israel is blamed.
“In this extremely tense regional situation, it is really of the utmost importance that we exercise restraint. Further escalation in the region is not in anyone’s interest,” said the Commission’s Foreign Policy Spokesperson, Peter Stano, during the Commission’s press briefing today.
“This is our position,” P. Stano said regarding the alleged Israeli strike on an Iranian diplomatic building in Damascus, specifically the Iranian consular office.
