Local media from the Isla de la Juventud special municipality reported a new travel schedule for the Perseverancia ferry in the face of “breakages” and the need to preserve the only maritime environment that currently unites the two inhabited islands of the Cuban archipelago.
According to the local channel Islavision, due to the breakages of the catamarans and the urgent need to protect the only vessel that today covers the route between the Ports of Nueva Gerona and Batabanó, the Traveler Base Business Unit located in the Special Municipality Isla de la Juventud, together with other entities involved in maritime passenger transportation, has decided to readjust the departure of the Perseverancia Ferry to alternate days.
The Acting Director of said travel entity, Saraí Rivas, in an interview with journalist Noel Otaño, detailed that the departures will be on alternate days starting on Wednesday, April 3, with departures scheduled on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th. , and April 13.

They added that the departure of Perseverancia from the port of Nueva Gerona is scheduled for 7:00 am from Nueva Gerona.
Meanwhile, from Havana, the screening of each departure for passengers scheduled for that day will begin at 9:00 am and the departure of the buses to Batabanó will be around 10:00 and 10:30 am. The departure of the Ferry from the Port of Batabanó towards Nueva Gerona will take place between 2:30 and 3:00 pm.
The Acting Director of the UEB “Traveler” reiterates to passengers that for any reason they are unable to make the trip, their tickets will be refunded at 100% of the cost.
