Talpa Network and streaming service Viaplay are going to collaborate. A selection from Viaplay’s sports offering can therefore be seen from April 5 on Viaplay TV, the new name of the Talpa channel SBS9. This concerns Formula 1, darts from the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and football matches from the English Premier League and German Bundesliga.

The first major sporting event on the new Viaplay TV channel is the Formula 1 race in Japan this coming weekend. The second free practice, qualifying and the race itself can then be seen on the channel. When asked, a spokesperson for Talpa Network said that it is not yet known whether upcoming Formula 1 races will also be shown on the new Viaplay. Frans Klein, Video Director at Talpa Network, speaks of “a wonderful collaboration.” Marco Zwanenveld, head of sport at Viaplay Netherlands, sees the collaboration as “a great next step for Viaplay in the Netherlands.”

SBS9 started in 2015 as the fourth channel of Talpa Network. Since then, the channel has mainly shown films and series. The Swedish Viaplay has been in the Netherlands since March 2022. The channel can be seen via a paid subscription.
