Egypt – Misr Aluminum Company announced yesterday, Monday, that it had received two offers from Emirati and Chinese companies in the tender for the company’s rehabilitation project.
The two companies are: the Chinese NFC Company and the Emirati Fleet Energy Company, according to the statement.
The company announced the launch of a tender between contracting companies using the EPC system to submit their offers to rehabilitate the company. The scope of work includes: the aluminum production lines sector, the electrical network transformers and power units sector, the anodic conductor rod factory equipment sector, the carbon area, the water networks sector and equipment for air compressors and industrial gas stations. The foundry sector, the aluminum rolling mill, the workshop sector, the extrusion factory, laboratories, the transportation sector, and unloading and shipping equipment in Safaga Port.
The company then announced that the closing date for the public tender related to the Misr Aluminum Company rehabilitation project was postponed to the end of March 2024.
The company said in a statement on Monday that the two offers submitted are being studied through the relevant committee.
Misr Aluminum Company was established in 1969 in Upper Egypt as the only company that manufactures primary raw aluminum in Egypt and is supplied with hydroelectric power from the Aswan High Dam.
The company, affiliated with the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries affiliated with the Ministry of Public Business Sector, is considered one of the largest aluminum companies in North Africa, with an annual production of 320 thousand tons in various forms of castings.
