As previously reported 24 Channel, the director of Xiaomi announced the start of orders for the Chinese electric car last week. Then he hinted that the price would not be higher than 70 thousand dollars.

Potential buyers have the opportunity to choose one of three options:
- Standard: Starting from 216,000 yuan (approximately 30 thousand dollars);
- Pro: From 246,000 yuan (approximately 34 thousand dollars);
- Max: from 300,000 yuan (approximately 42 thousand dollars).
For comparison, the entry-level Tesla Model 3 costs regarding 246,000 yuan in China.
At the initial application stage, Xiaomi reported that it received a huge number of applications: over 50,000 orders were received within the first 27 minutes. Prospective buyers must put down a RMB 5,000 deposit to secure their purchase, with deliveries expected to begin in early April.
What SU7 can do
Xiaomi SU7 specifications were previously revealed during the official presentation in December 2023. These sleek sedans seat five passengers and run on HyperOS technology, seamlessly integrating with Xiaomi smartphones. In addition, all models come with self-driving functionality, which will initially be available in select cities in China.
SU7 power ranges from 299 to 673 horsepower, depending on the selected configuration. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h ranges from 5.28 seconds for the base model to 2.78 seconds for the top version.
The standard model has a range of 700 km, the Pro model has a range of 830 km, and the Max model has a range of 800 km on a single charge.
Additionally, all models support fast charging, although charging speeds vary depending on the battery type.
- Standard and Pro models can travel 350 kilometers in 15 minutes of charging;
- The Max model can travel 510 kilometers in the same period of time.

Compared to the entry-level Tesla Model 3, the Xiaomi SU7 demonstrates superior acceleration, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.1 seconds and an extended range of 606 kilometers.
While the China launch has attracted significant attention, Xiaomi is yet to announce a timetable for the SU7’s global expansion into other markets.
