The opening of the McDonald’s franchise fast food restaurant is scheduled for next June, at 699 Argentina Avenue – at El Roble Street – in Chillán, where work is underway on the construction of the establishment, which incorporates the “Automac” format. , that is, with order and pick-up service by vehicle every day, 24 hours a day, in addition to traditional services, such as on-site consumption.

Arcos Dorados, a firm that operates the McDonald’s franchise in Chile and operates more than 100 stores in the country, declined to report on the characteristics of the store, which will be one of the 13 openings defined by the company for this year.

According to information provided by the Works Directorate of the Municipality of Chillán, the project considers an area of ​​325.7 square meters and only seven parking spaces. Due to the above, it was exempt from the requirement to present a road impact mitigation report.

The future location will reunite the renowned brand with the Chillán public, following it abandoned the ground floor of Mall Arauco Chillán in January 2023, within the framework of the shopping center remodeling project, which also meant the departure of the Santa Isabel supermarket. .

Nine months earlier, in March 2022, Arcos Dorados opened the San Carlos store, located next to Shell, on Route 5, which also has Automac.

The new stores add to the modernization process that the brand promotes in the national food industry, through its sustainable restaurants, which have more than 20 initiatives to care for the environment, which are related to low air consumption. conditioning, non-polluting refrigerant gases, solar water heaters, LED lighting; separation of waste and oil – used to be converted into biodiesel – use of certified wood in furniture, mechanical ventilation, absorbent flooring, glass with infrared filter, inclusion of solar panels and insulating roofs to promote energy savings, among other measures.

It is estimated that the establishment will have a staff of 100-120 employees.

“At Arcos Dorados we are one of the largest young employers in Latin America and thanks to these new openings we are giving many young people the opportunity of a first formal job in their own community,” they recently expressed.
