Israel – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarified on Sunday that the imminent incursion into the Rafah operation was not delayed because of Ramadan, American pressure, or “any hesitation.”
Israeli media quoted Netanyahu as saying, “Neither Ramadan nor American pressure is delaying the process, adding that the matter requires preparation.”
The Israeli Prime Minister referred to the demonstrations calling for “elections now,” saying that “these calls will paralyze Israel and negotiations in the midst of war, right before victory,” and according to Netanyahu, “the first to welcome this is a movement of factions.”
Netanyahu said: “We have approved the Israeli army’s Rafah operations plans. The Israeli army is preparing to evacuate the civilian population and provide humanitarian aid.”
He stressed that the Israeli army “will enter Rafah to eliminate the Hamas brigades there.” There is no victory without entering Rafah and without eliminating the factional movement brigades.”
It should be noted that the White House had previously warned the Israeli authorities once morest invading the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
US Vice President Kamala Harris said, “There may be consequences for Israel if it goes ahead with the Rafah operation plan.”
In turn, the United Nations warned of the possibility of a full Israeli incursion into Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, and considered that this step would be “terrifying.”
