Listen to Paul Arcand’s interview with Dr. Michael Bensoussan, gastroenterologist at Charles-LeMoyne Hospital.
“The medical records we have around the world are quite formal on something. This is because it only happens in our countries, that is to say the countries of the northern hemisphere, the rich countries, the G8 countries. So it only happens in Canada, the United States, and Europe. This is not an increase that we see in South America, Africa or Asia for example,” indicates Dr Michael Bensoussan.
“The number one hypothesis for the moment would be the way we eat and I would say, hyper-processed food. In ultra-processed industrial food, there are so many additives, there are so many chemicals, there are so many products that are absolutely not natural and that do not come from nature and that combine with each other. in products that we may have underestimated,” he adds.
