Coordinating MINISTER (Menko) for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto admitted that he was waiting for an invitation from the Constitutional Court (MK). He was one of four Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet who were asked to attend the General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) hearing for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
“Yes, we are waiting for the call. There is no invitation (from the Constitutional Court) yet,” said Airlangga at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, Monday night, (1/4).
The MK has scheduled the summons of four Advanced Indonesia Cabinet ministers to attend the PHPU session for the 2024 presidential election. They are scheduled to appear on Friday, April 5 2024.
The four ministers include the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini and Airlangga. Then, the MK also summoned parties from the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP).
“Friday will be reserved for the summons of parties deemed necessary by the Constitutional Court based on the results of the honorable meeting of the judges this morning,” said Chief Justice Suhartoyo at the Constitutional Court Building.
Suhartoyo said that the statements of the four ministers and DKPP were important for the court to hear. He denied that the summons was to accommodate the 2024 PHPU presidential election applicants, namely Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) and Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD.
“Because as is the universal discussion, the judicial body that holds inter partes trials then becomes biased when accommodating evidence requested by one of the parties. So it is solely to accommodate the interests of the judges,” explained Suhartoyo. (Z-8)
