Japan transferred $118 million to Ukraine

The projects are called “Strengthening the healthcare system and preserving life” (HEAL Ukraine) and “Housing renovation to restore the rights and opportunities of people” (HOPE).

For the first, $70 million has been allocated; it will be spent to reimburse budget expenses incurred under the medical guarantee program. The rest of the amount will go towards home renovations.

The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance, Sergei Marchenko, said that during hostilities the social sphere suffers the most, and the funds raised will help the government provide medical care and restore civilian infrastructure destroyed as a result of the attacks, including apartment buildings and private houses.

Earlier, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced that Kiev had received $1.5 billion from the World Bank as part of a Development Policy Loan.

Before this, the Ministry of Finance reported that Ukraine would soon receive $100 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank as part of the “HOME. Compensation for destroyed property.” It provides compensation for 5.7 thousand citizens of Ukraine.
