LINZ. Tournaments for girls who are already passionate regarding football or who want to become one: In spring 2024, interested girls in Upper Austria will have the chance to have their first footballing experiences at seven tournaments – divided into the two competitions Youngstar Cup and Girls Cup and to compete purely with girls’ teams. “When we launched the Girls Cup as the first young girls’ competition two years ago, we might never have dreamed that it would be so well received. That’s why we’re all the more pleased that we can already hold it with such regularity “The development of the individual girls and teams over these two years is impressive,” explains Manfred Feichtinger, initiator of the new competitions and chairman of the Girls’ Hobby League (MHL).
Since the fall season, the Youngstar Cup has also been a tournament for eight to eleven year old girls. Feichtinger: “Since last autumn we have also been offering the so-called Youngstar Cup for the younger age groups up to 2012. We would be very happy if even more teams took part. These formats are an important building block for the future of women’s football in Upper Austria .”
Vision of the girls competition
Also the Upper Austria.
