Djurgården ran over IFK Gothenburg

IFK Gothenburg took on Djurgården in front of packed stands at Gamla Ullevi.
Then the team had a nightmare start to the season.

IFK Gothenburg’s Allsvenskan season might have started better. Already in the 27th minute, Blåvitt’s Icelander Kolbeinn Thordarson received his second yellow card following bringing down Piotr Johansson and was thus sent off.

Shortly followingwards, Djurgården was awarded a penalty following a handball situation and team captain Marcus Danielson might certainly make it 1-0 for the away team.

Just before the break, the super talent Lucas Bergvall would increase the visitors’ lead to 2-0.

After a bit of a lull in the match during the start of the second half, Djurgården was able to make it 3-0 through Miro Tenho, who was allowed to stand completely free and roll the ball in relatively undisturbed.

Just four minutes later, it was time once more for Djurgården, who besieged their game outside Gothenburg’s penalty area. This time it was Norwegian new acquisition Tobias Gulliksen’s turn to find the net to make it 4-0.

At the end of the match, IFK Göteborg was able to reduce through the new acquisition Paulos Abraham. However, the blue-and-whites from Gothenburg never got closer than that, and Djurgården was able to take a lead-heavy victory back up to Stockholm.

This is how the team started:

Gothenburg: Bishesari – Salomonsson, Svensson, Hausner, Trondsen – Yalcouye, Pyndt, Thordarson – Santos, Norlin, Mucolli.

Djurgården: Widell Zetterström – Johansson, Danielson, Tenho, Dahl – Leach Holm, Schüller, Fallenius, Bergvall, Gulliksen – Hümmet.
