Within the framework of the elections for regional governors, regional councillors, mayors and councillors, which will take place on October 27, and whose deadline for declaring candidacies expires on July 29; The Electoral Service made the Web Sponsorship System for Independent Candidacies available to the electorate, which can be accessed from the website www.servel.cl.
On this platform, with their Unique Code (granted by the Civil Registry and Identification Service), independent citizens with the right to vote will be able to sponsor an independent candidacy that is enabled on the platform.
So far, in Ñuble, two names are registered to receive sponsorships to compete for the Regional Government: Ignacio Marín Abuín and Cristian Quilodrán Parra, who need to gather close to 2 thousand signatures.
“The sponsorship of signatures does not constitute a declaration of candidacy as such. Other formalities must be completed before taking the decision to register the candidacy. To jump into the pool, in addition to knowing how to swim, the pool must have water. That means that to think regarding a possible independent candidacy, it is necessary to have the signatures. So once I have the signatures stipulated by law, I will be able to decide with peace of mind to accept the possibility of being a candidate for regional governor of Ñuble,” said the current regional director of Planning of the MOP.
Meanwhile, the regional councilor, Cristian Quilodrán, is convinced of going to the end in this process.
“In these times of change and challenges for our region of Ñuble and for Chile, the importance of independent candidates takes on unprecedented relevance. Independent candidates, who strive to obtain sponsorships through the Servel website, represent fresh and necessary voices on the political landscape. “Our participation is essential to diversify the options available to citizens, offering alternatives that move away from traditional structures, and that in many cases are more aligned with the real and concrete needs of our communities,” he stated.
He added that “being an independent candidate, as I am, in this race towards the governorship of Ñuble means carrying the voice of those who do not feel represented by traditional political parties. Libertarian Candidate
Meanwhile, for the election of mayors, in the commune of Chillán, the candidate of the Libertarian Movement Fernando Briones Contreras, lawyer and former police officer, registered to collect signatures, who needs close to 700 endorsements.
“Tired of the same old politicians and precarious administration, just like in Argentina with Milei, we libertarians propose this candidacy. “We are gathering sponsorships from those who want to support the ‘Bukele Plan’ for Chillán,” he said.
