On March 27, Yuri Mikhailovich Vaksman, a legend of Yaroslavl theater and cinema, known for his characteristic roles in popular Russian TV series, producer, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, founder of a film company, passed away «YarCinema» and the Yaroslavl Chamber Theater.
It is difficult to overestimate the role of Yuri Mikhailovich in the cultural life of Yaroslavl. The actor played for many years in the troupe of the Yaroslavl Youth Theater, and also headed the private Chamber Theater for 25 years. Now the Simply Good Cinema festival, also founded and promoted by Waxman, is taking place on its stage for the tenth time.
Back at 19:00 on March 27, Yuri Mikhailovich was at a ceremony at the Volkovsky Theater and went on stage to pick up an award for his contribution and achievements in theater. In the evening, following the award ceremony, Vaksman gathered relatives and colleagues in his cafe “House of Actor,” a famous Yaroslavl haven for theatergoers. It was at the holiday, in the circle of friends, that Yuri Mikhailovich’s heart stopped. He was 62 years old.
