It was when the artist Dogge Doggelito, known among other things from the hip-hop group The Latin Kings, visited the Youtube channel Reallokal that he told how as a child he took turns with some friends to have sex with a teenage girl in a tent. The interview, which was circulated as a clip on social media last week, sparked strong reactions due to the artist’s light-hearted tone.
A couple of days following to The Express drew attention to the incident, Dogge was canceled from a celebration of The Latin King’s 30th anniversary at the all-activity center Koordinaten in Oxelösund. Oxelösund municipality was behind the cancellation.
– Dogge has a status and position, not least among young people, which means that what he says affects many. You can also choose not to talk, which Dogge does anyway, and he doesn’t seem remorseful regarding the whole thing either, cultural director Anders Magnusson told Södermanland News.
On Wednesday was cancelled he also from the Klossfestivalen at Fyrishov in Uppsala and from his participation in this summer’s Diggiloo tour.
– If something comes up that is not politically correct with someone we collaborate with, it is clear that we have to review it, Klossfestival’s project manager Fredrik Novak told UNT.
Patrik Krall, CEO of Krall Entertainment, which arranges the Diggiloo tour, says Cultural news that it is because of Dogge’s statements that they choose to cancel the collaboration.
– It is an event that should be happy and for the whole family. Then it feels like the values he stands for don’t match our values, says Patrik Krall.
DN has applied for Dogge Doggelito. He has previously said to Expressen that what happened was not “a big deal”.
– I remember it with pleasure, nothing negative.
