Another 35.7 million euros will be allocated for the modernization of border checkpoints

30.37 million euros of this amount come from the Cohesion Fund, 5.36 million euros from the state budget.

For the modernization of crossing points, 7.12 million euros are provided in 2024, in 2025 – 17.25 million euros, in 2026 – 11.36 million euros.

According to the Ministry of Finance, at the Paternieki checkpoint in the Kraslava region, during the modernization, guaranteed energy supply will be provided, the administrative building will be reconstructed, a single server room will be built, safe working conditions will be ensured in the control building of the Food and Veterinary Service, the building of in-depth customs inspection and other premises will be rebuilt, Video surveillance and communication systems were modernized, and a new parking lot for detained vehicles was built.

At the border crossing point in Terechovo, Ludza region, it is planned to build a terminal for passenger buses, reconstruct an administrative building, build a single server room, reconstruct control and inspection areas in accordance with labor protection and safety requirements, and carry out other work.
