At just 19 years old, Valentín Carboni debuted in the major league. His father and former soccer player from Lanús, Ezequiel, expressed all his joy for what his son experienced.
The Argentine National Team closed its tour in the United States with a 3-1 victory once morest Costa Rica and, as Lionel Scaloni had anticipated, the team had several changes that allowed senior debuts such as that of Valentín Carboni at just 19 years old. His father and former soccer player from Lanús, Ezequiel, expressed all his joy for what his son experienced: “She’s already surpassed me, it’s a source of pride. We’re still sleepless,” he said.
Valentín Carboni, whose pass belongs to Inter but is on loan at Monza and can opt for both the Argentine National Team and Italy, came on at the end of the match for captain Ángel Di María and the handful of minutes was enough for him to leave his mark with a good individual play that quickly went viral on the networks in the early morning.

Invaded by immense joy, the one who came out to talk regarding his son’s debut was Ezequiel Carboni, former player for Lanús and Catania of Italy, among others. In dialogue with the radio program No Veo La Hora on DSports, he revealed: “It’s already surpassed me, it’s a pride. We are still without sleeping with my wife, because here in Italy the game was at four in the morning. We continue straight with the excitement of the debut and the joy we have”.
The Carboni family. Ezequiel, father, and his two soccer-playing sons: Valentín and Franco, today at Ternana Calcio in Italy’s Serie B.
“We spoke little beforehand due to the time difference. He told me that he was calm, happy and living a dream, that he was trying to give everything. Afterwards, whether it was his turn to play or not, he never went looking for anything more than to be there and to have the experience of being able to live with that coaching staff and those teammates who are what they are,” said Ezequiel from Milan.
Then, he referred to the advice he gives to his son: “There is always enjoyment, he tries to give everything, to be calm, but enjoy the moment, because being in the world’s biggest champion team, at your age, I I told him to enjoy. That was the little we talked regarding, I don’t know if he had spoken with Scaloni, if he had told him that he was going to play or not. I didn’t want to get into that to give him peace of mind. He is very young and is living an experience incredible”.
On the other hand, Carboni Sr. defined his son’s personality: “I don’t know who he got his left foot from. It’s difficult to talk regarding a son at a soccer level. He plays well, has a lot of passion and is mainly very humble. He doesn’t like to talk, he’s always ‘hidden’, but when it comes to playing he has an important personality.
“Yesterday he had two or three good interventions, but beyond that, his personality is very quiet, calm. Once he enters the field, he kind of unleashes himself. Since he was very young, he has been like that. As a dad, I leave him alone, I let him be as he is and that way he will grow. I always tell him to listen, to learn, and that in these places where he has to be, which are unique and that I have never been in, try to get the most out of him. fruit. This way he will be able to have an apprenticeship for his career, which God wants will be nice and long,” he added.
Finally, he told how his son is treated in the large group that was formed: “Valentín is a boy, he is going to have to make his experience. Already with what he experienced these ten days and with what he had experienced in March , when he was also called up but did not have to debut, he had come crazy, that he had lived a terrible experience. I imagine that when he comes tomorrow he will say the same thing, being much happier for having debuted and for how they have treated him, because I have asked him regarding that and he told me that they treat him incredibly, that it seems like they have been his lifelong companions. That speaks for the group. From a distance and as a dad, that leaves one in peace.”
