The Steinbach Black Wings have extended the contracts of two Austrian players known for their work ethic and commitment on the ice. Julian Pusnik, who will play for the national team from next Monday, will be in Linz for two more years. Since 2019, the Carinthian native has been chasing the target for the Black Wings in the ICE Hockey League. In total, the 24-year-old has already made 190 appearances for Linz, in which he scored 30 points (including 17 goals).
Jakob Mitsch’s contract was extended by one year. Since moving to Linz, the Burgenland native played 164 games for the Steinbach Black Wings and was able to record 14 scorer points (including eight goals).

Jakob Mitsch: “I am very happy that I was able to extend my contract. The whole environment in Linz, the fans, the teammates, I mightn’t be happier. I enjoy working and what I do. If you really enjoy doing it, you can achieve a lot anywhere. I want to improve my performance once more and support the team even more.”
“It’s difficult when you’re struggling with injuries. The last year has been extremely helpful to me because it’s so nice when you can play with your colleagues all year round and stick together through thick and thin. I’m very happy regarding the coach’s trust and that I got so much ice time. Also on the special teams. I want to build on that next year,” said Julian Pusnik happily.
