A Xiaomi announced a new robot vacuum cleaner with cleaning mop. This is the model M30 S, which is available for pre-sale in China and has some features similar to those of the M30 Pro, launched by the manufacturer recently. But its set of specs and features is a little more basic.

To begin with, one of the attributes in common with the model launched at the beginning of the year is the LDS navigation, which is carried out with the help of a camera with a wide-angle lens that has a viewing angle of 110º. Likewise, the product can avoid obstacles thanks to the use of a technology called S-Cross AI.

The other features of the Mijia M30 S include a suction power of 7,300 Pa, with a mop that works at 180 rpm. According to information from Xiaomi itself, the item has the capacity to reach practically every location in a room, reaching 99% coverage, and can be used in an area of up to 700 m².

The robot vacuum cleaner can also be controlled through the manufacturer’s app or with voice commands, as is the case with the company’s other smart home products. It’s worth mentioning that this model comes with a hair cutting solution so that it doesn’t leave the vacuum compartment clogged.

Still, compared to the M30 Pro, this is a simpler system. Furthermore, it does not have features for subject recognition with AI and night vision.

Availability and price

As already mentioned, Xiaomi’s M30 S robot vacuum cleaner is available for pre-sale for the price of 3,600 yuan (R$ 2,481). There is no information regarding the arrival of the product in markets in other countries.
