Apple Vision Pro could arrive in China with apps from giant Tencent

One new report from The Information indicates that Apple will have a strong partnership for the launch of Vision Pro already China — which should happen later this year, as already confirmed. This is the giant Tencentresponsible for a series of popular apps in the country (including the messenger WeChat).

According to the information, the company has reached an agreement with Maçã to distribute some of its main apps on the mixed reality (augmented/virtual) headset — although it is not clear whether they will be native applications for visionOS or just their adapted versions of iPadOS .

Owner of a video streaming service with almost 450 million monthly users, Tencent will be able to fill some of the lack of some popular applications in the West that are probably not available in China — such as Disney+, which was launched for the Vision Pro as a result of a partnership between Apple and Disney.

Apple may launch more services in China

O The Information also stated that the Cupertino giant is moving to launch subscription services like Apple TV+o Apple Arcade and the Apple Fitness+ in the country. The last service launched by the company in the country was iCloud+, in 2017; the Chinese also already have Apple Music as an option for streaming music.

Regulatory rules in China require Apple to form local partnerships to make its services available. According to the report, the company was already working on a possible agreement — although it was not known how far this venture had progressed.
