LR Teschl-Hofmeister: Practical training is the heart of the “green professions”

St. Pölten (OTS) – Easter is just around the corner, so the teaching gardening department at the Langenlois Horticultural School is particularly challenged to produce floristic decorations. Early bloomers have been cultivated for weeks so that a colorful and atmospheric Easter can be celebrated. State Councilor for Education Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister paid a visit to the “Green Teaching Center” and saw for herself the creative ideas and the spring-like floristry. “The teaching at the Langenlois Horticultural School is the heart of gardening training, because practical activity is the foundation for solid training quality. With technical know-how and imaginative ideas, the students at the horticultural school demonstrate their craftsmanship in creating atmospheric moments at Easter,” she emphasized. “The Easter tradition is preserved here in the educational nursery with colorful arrangements and at the same time filled with life. “The Langenlois Horticultural School makes spring shine with beautiful floral magic and individual arrangement creations,” says Teschl-Hofmeister.

“Particularly popular for Easter arrangements this year are plants cultivated in Austria with velvety peach tones, such as the trend color Peach Fuzz and warm cream tones. Warm orange and a soft golden yellow are also among the most popular colors for Easter. Midnight blue is also in demand this year,” informs director Franz Fuger. “The colors for this year’s Easter are extremely cheerful and symbolize the theme of confidence, which is important to all of us at the moment. In addition, in the educational gardening and show gardens, particular emphasis is placed on ecological standards in the production of ornamental plants, vegetables and trees,” says Fuger.

Until the beginning of June, the sale of ornamental plants, fruit trees, ornamental trees, organic vegetable and herb plants takes place every Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Haindorf educational nursery near Langenlois.
