Artificial intelligence (AI) giant OpenAI wants to integrate more generative AI, which specializes in content creation, into the Hollywood film industry.
The AI company plans to meet with several studios, talent agencies and media executives in Los Angeles next week to discuss partnerships, several news sites in the United States announced in recent days.
OpenAI wants more filmmakers to use Sora, their image-generating AI. This new product from the creators of ChatGPT allows you to generate videos from text and might disrupt the way Hollywood currently works.
The announcement of Sora’s release in February shook some major players in the Hollywood film industry, such as producer Tyler Perry, who shelved plans for an $800 million studio expansion in favor of the potential of AI.
Although he closely followed the development of the technology, it wasn’t until he saw the demonstration that he realized its true potential, he told the Hollywood Reporter magazine.
Much like with ChatGPT, OpenAI has not been transparent regarding Sora’s training data. The creator community already suspects that this technological tool was formed by extracting works of art and videos without the consent of their creators, reported the media Mashable.
