The renowned soap opera producer Nicandro Díaz, an undisputed talent behind numerous Televisa hits that have transcended borders, died on March 18 at the age of 60 in a tragic accident during his vacation in Cozumel, Quintana Roo.

Díaz, who left a legacy of stories yet to be told in the world of television, was in the company of his partner, actress Mariana Robles, when the accident happened.

The sad news has shocked not only his family, made up of his three children: Nicandro Díaz Jr., Sebastián Díaz and Victoria Díaz, but also the public and colleagues who admired his work.

In recent statements on the radio program Todo para la mujer, Mariana Robles provided her version of the events surrounding the accident, stating:

“We were alone. We went to eat and when we came back, we were on one of these tiny motorcycles, I don’t even remember the color, it was rented, we did wear helmets. I wore a cap under my helmet. Robles denied speculation and official versions regarding the causes of the accident, including those that suggested the sudden appearance of an animal on the road, explaining that he had no visibility of the road and that he simply “don’t know what happened,” because of his position behind Diaz.

“I have no idea where it came from, I never, I never said it, I have no idea, if you tell me ‘they were run over, an animal ran into them, there was oil, they fell asleep…’, I might believe any theory.” . Hours following these statements, Victoria Díaz, the producer’s daughter, expressed a firm message through Instagram, “Don’t believe anything regarding Mariana Robles,” thus indicating a clear conflict over the circumstances that led to her father’s death.

In addition to this, it has been reported that Díaz’s children would have asked the corresponding authorities for an exhaustive investigation into the incident, in search of clarity regarding what happened. This message from Victoria might be proof of the distance that existed between Mariana and the children of her boyfriend, who would have invited the actress to “not attend” the producer’s funeral.

Prior to his tragic departure, Díaz had consolidated a home with his then wife, Cynthia Buitrón, with whom he had his three children.

It should be remembered that “Nic”, as the producer was affectionately called, had already been separated from the mother of his children for around five years, so his romance with Mariana Robles would have begun approximately in 2021.

Nicandro Díaz Junior is the firstborn of the producer of Soy tu dueña, and he is currently 23 years old.
