Barras de Laferrere arrested for a drug case in La Matanza

Drug trafficking found an ally in the water to transport cocaine, when it is not possible by land or air. Such is the case of the Colombian narco submarines. Saving the distance, in the Buenos Aires district of La Matanza a drug canoe appeared that crossed the Matanza River and might well pay honor to the drug engineers in Colombia. It happened this March 21, when the Departmental Security Police Station of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police in that area carried out 22 raids in the town of Gregorio de Laferrere.

The procedure was ordered by Jorge Ernesto Rodríguez, head of the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 2 of Morón, Secretariat No. 5 of Lorena Reynoso.

The agents arrested 11 suspects, among them, members of the brava group of the Laferrere Sports Social and Cultural Club, who weeks ago were the protagonists of a video that shows them displaying firearms from a bus, an act in which the justice system intervenes. of the province of Buenos Aires.

During the operation carried out by Rodríguez, a large quantity of weapons for civil and war use, bulletproof vests, money, vehicles and narcotics were seized: “6,357 small wrappers of base paste, marijuana and cocaine, 7944.6 kg of base paste , 5282.7 kg of cocaine and 2989.88 kg of marijuana,” it was officially reported.

The canoe used by drug traffickers on the Matanza River

The investigation began in January, as a result of an anonymous complaint that reported that on Tafi Street, near the Matanza River, between Calderón de la Barca and Apipe streets, there is a drug gang with weapons and police vests, which they sell. base paste day and night and threaten the residents of the area.

In this way, it was established that different people arrived on the banks of the Matanza River to buy drugs. According to the sources, the consumers headed towards a section of trees, where they were received at a first post by armed people who searched them and even took off their clothing, and then moved on to a second post where they handed over the money. After a moment, they received the narcotics to finally leave the place.

The sources highlighted that there is a precarious wooden bridge over the river, which connects both banks, on the investigated side it belongs to the La Matanza district, but on the opposite side it corresponds to Ezeiza and to reach that height on the side of the area’s district. south, several kilometers must be traveled cross-country, they explained.

In short, there are no roads or way to get there by vehicle. In addition, members of the organization would use the canoe to move around without being detected.

Likewise, the illegal activity was carried out by several sellers, who responded to different people, there were also other subjects who ensured that everything was carried out without risk to the maneuvers, using firearms to do so. In fact, the investigators revealed that, during the surveillance, detonations might be heard, as happens in the triple border area, crossed by the Paraná River, in Puerto Iguazú.

The investigation made it possible to establish the identities of the people responsible for the activity, who fulfilled different roles in the organization, from suppliers, organizers and sellers; also to those who belong to the brava group of the Matanzas club.

The Laferrere bar, with weapons and a machine gun

In mid-February, the caravan ride of the Deportivo Laferrere brava group in the run-up to the duel once morest Deportivo Armenio went viral. They were aboard a bus brandishing firearms and firing shots into the air, as a demonstration of power. Two weeks later, for that episode, Pedro Fernando Argañaraz, Omar Alejandro Argañaraz and Jonatan Emanuel Sandoval were arrested, who were identified as carrying the arsenal, which included a rifle.

The case is classified as “coercive threats, illegitimate deprivation of liberty aggravated in real competition with illegal carrying of weapons of war and public intimidation.”

To understand what happened with the video that began the investigation, we must look at what happens in the bar of one of the most popular teams in Western Buenos Aires. Those who dominate the popular today call themselves the Villera Family and came to power in 2018, when their predecessors, called La 79, were arrested for drug trafficking.

The new bosses had Fabricio Martínez as their leader, a man linked to the meat syndicate and who some also linked to Nicolás Guimil, alias Chaki Chan, the famous drug trafficker who collected 10 million pesos per day and who, due to his idolatry of Pablo Escobar, He was considered the Patron of Slaughter.

But Martínez was shot dead outside his house, in what would be a drug trafficking incident. Although he saved his life, he knew that he had to get out of a place as exposed as the stands. There the drug leader put his right-hand man, Freddy, as his boss at the bar. In fact, throughout last year you might see under the flag that said Familia Villera, another insignia that said “Freddy’s Bar.” But Guimil was arrested almost at the same time that the members of La 79 began to be released, at the end of 2023, following five years behind bars.

Then, the old leaders saw the possibility of returning. Thus, at the beginning of 2024, a guerrilla war began. Freddy disappeared from the court since the beginning of the tournament and no one knows his whereregardings. His successor, Moski, La 79 shot up his house and also put him on guard. And there, the group from kilometer 24 decided that they were not going to be able to beat them. And to make it clear, they set up the scene that opened the police investigation and ended with the raids and arrests.
