Negotiations on the ceasefire in Gaza and the release of Israeli and foreign hostages, in Hamas custody, continue in Doha (Qatar), at a time when the head of the Israeli secret services (Mossad), David Barnea, abandoned the lo – talk lime

David Barnea “has left Doha”, revealed the spokesman for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed al-Ansari, during a press conference on Tuesday, and added that “the technical teams” are still meeting, but he did not say date on which the “secret” left Doha.

According to the Foreign Affairs spokesman, the head of the Israeli secret services was due to meet with the Qatari Prime Minister and Egyptian officials in these talks, the first since last week’s failure as mediators were unable to guarantee a truce before of the beginning of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month.

Technical teams are currently analyzing the details of a potential agreement, following the main negotiators have discussed the “key issues”, Ansari said.

“We are at the stage where we hope that a counter-proposal will be presented to Hamas. This is not the final phase of the process”, said the diplomat.

“I don’t think we can say we are close to an agreement. We are cautiously optimistic that negotiations have resumed, but it is too early to announce a success,” she added.

On Monday, a Hamas official said the movement would accept a partial Israeli withdrawal before exchanging prisoners, watering down previous demands for a full withdrawal.
