In the end, the two Mercedes came in 2nd-3rd. place, although even with fast laps on soft tires they fell short of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz’s average lap. Although it seemed that the really fast laps of the other leading teams were still to come, in the end only Charles Leclerc was able to change the order of the first three before the wave, who closed in between the two Mercedes, 33 thousandths from his teammate.
In the end, Leclerc still won the last practice ahead of Verstappen, as both of them improved even following the checkered flag was waved.
The difference between the two was 20 thousandths, but the disadvantage of Hamilton, who finished fourth, is only 92 thousandths.
