The European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira met yesterday Thursday 21/03/2024 with the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis and the deputy minister, Nikos Papathanasis.
During the meeting, an overview of the progress of the projects implemented within the NSRF 2014-2020 was made and it was found that the absorption of European funds is expected to reach 100%. It was also noted that in the new period 2021-2027 Greece is among the pioneers in the execution of programs.
Individual aspects of the implementation of the specific programs were also discussed, as well as issues related to the Just Development Transition Program 2021-2027, which gives a new lease of life to the areas most affected by our country’s transition to a climate-neutral economy.

Additionally, there was an exchange of views on the future of cohesion policy in the European Union, which was seen by both sides as fundamental to support growth and investment.
The meeting was also attended, as reported by APE-MPE, by the general secretary of Public Investments and NSRF Dimitris Skalkos, the special secretary of European Regional Development Fund and Cohesion Fund Programs George Zervos and the special secretary for European Social Fund Program Management Victory of Dandolo.
