Syrian artist Asala Nasri apologized to singer Angham following a dispute that lasted between them for years.
Asala said to Angham, during the “BigTime PODCAST” programme, presented by the journalist Amr Adeeb, Asala, broadcast on “MBC1”: “I respect you and your talent, and I am proud that you and I are singers. I am proud of you and your career. I have never said anything regarding you except the words.” Sweet because you deserve it. All of your qualities are sweet, a great and committed mother, and a wonderful friend. And if I did something in the past, it would be bad for myself. In the first place, I offended myself. I was not comfortable, and it was normal for you to upset my friend. You have the right to me. Our friendship means a lot to me. I love you and respect you a lot.”
Angham replied: “Asala is a character who comes once in a while. I have known her well for a long time, and we were very close and friends and felt for each other because we are close in age and our circumstances are similar. We had children and we almost had no childhood, and we took on responsibilities very quickly in everything. I can feel for her and she feels for me.” I have great appreciation for her as an artist. I have never seen her as anything but great. She is a singer who came and will come once in a lifetime. Her voice, performance, and personality on stage are unlike any other. Artistic qualities come only once in a lifetime.”
Angham continued: “When I was upset with her, the anger was great because I loved her so much. You can be upset with anyone but he will not be separated from you, but when someone remains, you are in a position that you are very protective of and the anger that upsets you remains great. You feel that someone has betrayed you. We It is generally accepted that we are jealous of each other, but we knew how to remain friends, go to each other’s houses, eat, drink and joke, so when someone like this knocks you down and you do not expect it from him at all, the anger was as much as love.”
Angham continued: “Asala is not an easy person, rational and crazy at the same time. Kindness and respect are the most important to me. We see each other with great respect even when we are sad. I used to have all the respect for her, but it doesn’t shake.”
Asala had launched an attack on the artist Angham years ago, following announcing her marriage to the music distributor Ahmed Ibrahim, who was married to Yasmine Issa, the niece of director Tariq Al-Erian, but following the separation of Asala and Al-Erian, the Syrian artist retracted her position.
