Theodoros Kolokotronis with 2,000 men occupies the hills of Kalamata towards Sparta. Papaflessas with Anagnostaras and Stamatelopoulos “catch” the other side. The city is located on a Greek border.

The revolutionaries enter Patras. Ioannis Papadiamantopoulos and Andreas Londos raise a revolutionary flag (red with a black cross in the middle). Germanos of Old Patras makes a wooden cross, which he places in the Square of Agios Georgios. The rebels swear by this cross.
