“Bandit love” ends in double homicide in unsuccessful robbery – Jornal OPaís

The young Manuel Ventura da Costa, better known as Bad, aged 32, and his partner in crime known only as 3.5.5, are part of a group of 12 alleged criminals who were recently dismantled by the National Police for allegedly being involved in a double homicide that occurred on January 20th, in Luanda

The group of criminals ended the life of Honória Afonso, owner of the residence targeted by the robbery, with the help of Paulina de Oliveira, the alleged girlfriend of criminal 3.5.5, who is on the run. She is also described as being the informant of the group of criminals, that is, the person whose mission was to carry out prior research into the financial conditions of the family that would be robbed in the dead of night.

On the night of January 20th, the duo, Bad and 3.5.5, believing in the information that in one of the residences in the Lagostas neighborhood, in the Urban District of Ngola Kiluanje, there was a considerable amount of money, decided to mobilize some members of the group to carry out an armed robbery. The information regarding the existence of values had been passed on to 3.5.5 by Paulina de Oliveira, as Bad, one of the members of the group detained by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Luanda, told the press yesterday.

According to the source, they were unable to enter the residence easily, as they encountered resistance behind the door. In this case, according to Bad, his friends fired shots to neutralize whoever was stopping them, fatally hitting young Honória Afonso André, 21 years old, daughter of the owner of the residence. Bad recalls, in statements to the press, that they then entered the residence and came across people in tears crying for help. “As I was outside, I was unaware that the shots fatally shot the daughter of the owner of the house”, he said.

According to the alleged criminal, when his accomplices returned, they stated that there were only material goods in the residence, as they did not find any money. “They committed the crime of aggravated theft of 200,000 kwanzas, three cell phones, a wallet containing several multi-boxes and a Bluetooth player speaker”, detailed Emanuel Capita, spokesperson for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).

Bad claims that it was 3.5.5 himself who purposely shot his own girlfriend. “He said he shot the girl because she was his girlfriend. And I also fired a shot”, detailed the young man who already has a criminal record, having served a prison sentence in the Calomboloca and Viana District prisons. From there, he went on a motorbike and his companions in a car, to the next residence that would be robbed that same night.

Justification of death

The spokesperson for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Emanuel Capita, said that those involved decided in the first instance to physically attack citizen Paulina de Oliveira, aged 19, “by the way, the girlfriend of one of the fugitive suspects, due to the fact that she having been the group’s informant, weighing on her the false tip regarding the existence of large amounts of money in her neighbor’s residence”. According to Emanuel Capita, dissatisfied, some of the members of the criminal association decided to kill the citizen, because, in their opinion, just beating her would not be enough, because he knew that they were the perpetrators of the crime that victimized the neighbor. “In order not to leave loose ends, they decided to murder the citizen with an AKM-type firearm shot in the chest area, fleeing,” he explained.

Family members cry out for justice

Antónia Marques Sebastião, mother of Paulina de Oliveira, stated that her family was surprised by the information they received at the Police Station, where the competent criminal proceedings were launched. “To the extent that she was very sickly, she suffered from asthma, shy and fearful,” she described. The unsuccessful child was the second daughter, out of a total of four. Appalled by the pain that gnaws at her, a month following the death devastated her family, she said she was pleased to see the criminals arrested and that she hopes justice will be done. “Paula never showed any bad behavior.

She even really liked going to parties. She told me she didn’t have a boyfriend,” she said in tears. She then added that “I intend to ask the criminals why they did this”. When remembering the last moment she spent with her daughter on the 20th, Antónia Sebastião stated that she received, around 7 pm, a message and left the house without saying goodbye. At first, they thought she was sitting at the door of her house or on the outskirts of the neighborhood, as was the custom.

At around 9pm, they realized that he was not in any of the places mentioned above. Worried, they called her and the phone rang but no one answered. They left a message and, even so, she didn’t respond or return the calls. According to our interlocutor, around 5 o’clock, a neighbor called Paula’s father to ask regarding her. As soon as her father informed the neighbor that they were just looking for her, he recommended that she go to the nearest dumpster, close to an Ango-Austral company shipyard. Antónia Sebastião says that when they arrived there they found three police officers protecting a corpse on the floor, it was the body of her daughter Paulina de Oliveira.
