If you are Cuban or Latino and live in Hialeah, Miami, United States, you can complete the passport process in this same city. Fast, easy and close to you! It is not from a private agency, but through a public service of the mayor’s office. We tell you where and how it will be.
Local media reported on March 20, 2024, the mayor of Hialeah, Esteban Bovo, announced the opening of this new passport office in the city, in the area of the John F. Kennedy public library, located at 190 West 49th Street. Here you will be able to obtain or renew your US passport for the first time.
“The new office is the result of a need detected by the library director, Grisel Torralbas, who realized that in Hialeah there were many people looking for the possibility of getting a passport,” Bovo told the local newspaper Las Américas.

Torralbas precisely pointed out that they agreed with the Department of State to add the passport processing service to the library. To do this, four of its librarians underwent training and became passport processing agents.
“Until now, Hialeah residents had to go to offices outside the city and wait several months to get their passport. On the other hand, appointments at the Kennedy library are given immediately,” they said.
The new service will be by appointment, and anyone in the city will be able to request their US passport or renew the document if you are under 16 years of age.
According to this information, the Hialeah library requires a payment of $35 for the processing of the US passport, which can be made with a credit card, debit card or cash. Additionally, the North American State Department would charge a variable fee depending on the procedure and type of passport: 160, 130, 115 or 100 dollars.
